What a job costs on Sume — the provider's price with 0% markup — and how top-ups, failed jobs and refunds work.
0% markup
Sume bills every model in the catalog at the provider's price, with 0% markup. A workspace without a price book pays what the provider charges for each job, with no margin and no fee on top. The per-model rates are in the catalog (GET /v1/catalog) and on the pricing page.
Sume's own products are billed at the rates listed on the API rate card: Avatar, Image 1.0 and Video 1.0, the media tools and timeline render.
A workspace on a signed agreement pays the terms of that agreement.
One balance in US dollars
Generation, the agent, Formats, the API, the CLI and MCP all draw from one workspace balance, in US dollars. You add funds with a top-up on the pricing page or in the dashboard, and each top-up lasts 365 days.
Sume pays the card processing fee. A top-up adds its full amount to your balance: a $50 top-up is $50 of balance. "At cost" describes what a job draws from that balance, not a fee on the card payment.
When a job is charged
A job's price is reserved from the balance when you submit it, and settled when it ends. A generation that fails is refunded to the balance. Over MCP, dry_run shows a request's price without running it.
Refunds and acceptable use
Refunds of top-ups and plan fees follow the Terms: except where required by law or expressly stated by Sume, fees and consumed credits are non-refundable. What you may make with Sume is in the acceptable use section of the same Terms.
