WooCommerce product image size: by default the single product page shows the image uncropped at 600 px wide, product grids such as the shop page show it at 300 px wide cropped square, and gallery thumbnails are 100 × 100 px square. What are WooCommerce's default image sizes?

WooCommerce registers three image sizes. They set the files it generates; your theme can still display images at other sizes with CSS, and grid column widths can limit them.

How do I change the WooCommerce product image size?

In the customizer, the store owner picks one of three cropping settings for catalog images: 1:1 (square), Custom (an aspect ratio you enter) or Uncropped (keeps each image's own ratio), plus the widths. Things to know:

• If your theme declares image sizes, the width fields are hidden and only the cropping option shows.
• Changes reach customers only after you publish the customizer and the thumbnails are regenerated to the new dimensions.
• Developers can change a size with the woocommerce_get_image_size_{size} filter, but WooCommerce doesn't recommend that route for plugins and themes because it overrides the store owner's settings.

What size should I upload product images?

Upload one square image per photo, larger than 600 px. By default the product gallery uses WordPress's full image size when shoppers zoom or view the full-size image, so the extra pixels are not wasted. Keep the product centered with some space around it, so a custom crop ratio chosen later doesn't cut it off. Use the same ratio for every product so the grid lines up.
