GMV Max auto-generated product videos: add one per SKU

TikTok's Creative Excellence auto-generates product videos inside GMV Max with Symphony. To add more assets, queue one Sume Format run per SKU with a spend cap.

Creative Excellence, per TikTok's July 28 2026 preview, helps merchants expand the assets available to GMV Max through shoppable carousel ads and auto-generated product videos, which are created directly in GMV Max using TikTok Symphony. If you want extra product videos beyond that one, queue a Sume Format run per SKU and set a spend cap on each.

TikTok's description is from its Q3 product preview, read 2026-09-30. Sume's from Create a run and Bulk runs.

What does Creative Excellence include?

Two things: carousels, a low-lift way to show products across a catalog, and an auto-generate option that makes product videos in GMV Max. TikTok says together they diversify creative without additional production. The snapshot gives no per-video controls, so what you cannot steer there, you can generate yourself.

How do I make a video for each SKU?

A catalog Format takes a declared input kind: url, text, image or product. The documented example run passes a product_url inside input. Bulk runs queue up to 100 Format runs with a concurrency window, so a catalog is a list of runs, one per product page.

Run controls that matter for a catalog, from the Format docs, read 2026-09-30.
NeedField or endpoint
Product page as inputinput.product_url
One run per SKUBulk runs, up to 100 per queue
Safe retriesIdempotency-Key header
Cost ceilinggeneration_spend_cap_usd, up to $500 per run

How do I keep spend bounded?

Set generation_spend_cap_usd on each run. The docs state it is a per-run ceiling up to the platform maximum of $500, and that 0 is rejected and null runs at $500, so pass an explicit number.

Where do I start with one product?

Try a single run first; product photo to video API walks through it. For the other half of TikTok's catalog update, see Smart+ Catalog Ads Creative Upgrades.
