Facebook catalog image_link: 500x500, 8 MB, JPEG or PNG

Meta's catalog image_link must be at least 500x500, at most 8 MB, JPEG or PNG. Ask Sume for a 1:1 JPEG and measure the file before you add it to a feed.

Meta's catalog reference says image_link must be at least 500x500 pixels, at most 8 MB, in JPEG or PNG. Generate a square product image with aspect_ratio: "1:1" and output_format: "jpeg" on POST /v1/images, then check the dimensions and file size of what you download.

Meta facts are from the Marketing API catalog reference, read 2026-10-01. Sume facts are from the Images API docs.

What does Meta ask for?

Meta catalog image_link, read 2026-10-01
RuleValue
Minimum size500x500
Maximum file size8 MB
FormatsJPEG, PNG

How do I request it?

A sync request waits up to 30 seconds and returns the image, or returns 202 with a job to poll. Failed generations are not billed. Sume v1 has no explicit-pixel size, so you take the model's native square output and read its real width and height.

curl -X POST "https://api.sume.com/v1/images" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "model": "google/nano-banana-2",
    "prompt": "Steel water bottle on a plain light background, soft shadow, product photo",
    "aspect_ratio": "1:1",
    "resolution": "2K",
    "output_format": "jpeg"
  }'

What should I check before the feed?

Confirm the pixel size is at least 500x500 and the file is under 8 MB, then compare the picture with the real item, since the feed is a promise about the product. For the whole-catalog cost see AI product photo cost per SKU. Confirm current rules on Meta's page.
