Cut one product video into feed cutdowns with the video-trim API
Video trim cuts a [start, end) range from a Sume-hosted clip into a new MP4 at $0.02 per job. Meta's Facebook Feed page lists 1 second to 241 minutes of length.

POST /v1/video-trim takes one media.sume.com clip, a start and either end or duration, and returns a new MP4 of just that range at $0.02 per job. Meta's Facebook Feed video page lists a length of 1 second to 241 minutes, so a 15 second master can be cut into three 5 second versions.
How do I cut a range?
Send video_url, start in seconds (at least 0), and exactly one of end or duration. Idempotency-Key is required. The source is untouched, and the result is a new artf_ MP4; the video trim docs say to drop it into a Timeline video[] with source_in 0 if you want to assemble it further.

Three cuts are three jobs, so the arithmetic is 3 x $0.02 = $0.06 at the listed rate. Confirm the rate live in GET /v1/catalog.

What does Meta's page say about length?
Read on 2026-09-30: video duration 1 second to 241 minutes for Facebook Feed, with the same page listing a 4:5 aspect ratio and 1440 x 1800 pixels. Unless you pass output, a trim inherits the source size, so use the 4:5 Timeline post to fit the frame.
What should I watch for?
Trim can land near the requested start and reports actual_start_seconds and precision in the result, so read them. A cut in the middle of a sentence or beat looks like a cut, so choose ranges that end on a natural break.
