How to make an ad from a format that already works

Start from a proven ad format such as a street interview, green screen, unboxing or talking head, and have Sume's Remixy make it with your product.

A format is the repeatable shape of an ad: a street interview, a green screen reaction, an unboxing, a talking head. Starting from a format that already works means the structure is proven and only your product, words and brand are new, which is faster than inventing an ad from a blank prompt.

In Sume you pick a format and Remixy makes it with your product (Formats). Formats are grouped by what they do, you can save your own video as a format, and you can ask for one Sume does not have yet.

Which formats work for which goals?

Examples of formats named on Sume's Formats page.
FormatGood for
Street interviewSocial proof and reactions from real-looking people
Green screenReacting to a post, a review or a claim
UnboxingPhysical products and first impressions
Talking headExplaining a product or answering an objection

How is a format different from a reference ad?

A reference is one ad you found; a format is the pattern behind many of them. Use a reference when one ad is clearly working right now, and a format when you want several ads in a shape you trust. Remaking a competitor's ad covers the reference path.

What about the older Formats API?

Earlier Sume guides described calling saved Formats over a developer API. Developers now call Sume's models through the Sume API, and Formats live in the app, where Remixy makes them.
