X API Post with a URL costs $0.20 vs $0.015: plan a 100-item batch

X charges $0.015 per Post and $0.20 per Post containing a URL since Apr 20, 2026. A 100-item batch is $1.50 plain or $20.00 with links. Plan around it.

X's Apr 16, 2026 changelog says that effective Apr 20, 2026, POST /2/tweets costs $0.015 per post and Posts containing a URL cost $0.20 per Post; summoned replies stay at $0.01. For 100 Posts that is $1.50 with no links and $20.00 if every Post carries a URL, a 13.3x difference.

X rates are from its changelog, read 2026-10-01; the totals are my arithmetic. Sume limits are from Bulk runs.

What does a 100-Post batch cost on X?

Multiply the per-Post rate by the count. Summoned replies are a different case and are not part of a scheduled batch.

X write rates and 100-Post totals, from the X changelog, read 2026-10-01.
CasePer Post100 Posts
Plain Post$0.015$1.50
Post containing a URL$0.20$20.00
Summoned reply$0.01$1.00

Does a link in a reply avoid the URL rate?

The changelog I read does not say how a reply that contains a URL is billed, so do not assume the cheaper rate. Test with one Post and read your X usage before committing 100.

How do the Sume limits shape the batch?

A Format bulk queue takes 1 to 100 items, in order, with a required concurrency from 1 to 16. That makes 100 the natural unit: one queue of 100 renders, then 100 Posts from your own code. Video-trim is listed as $0.02 per job, so 100 trims is $2.00, and Timeline accepts an audio length of 1 to 1800 seconds. Check live prices in the catalog before budgeting. See Format bulk runs.

What should I decide before sending?

Decide per Post whether the link is worth $0.185 more than a plain Post ($0.20 minus $0.015). If the link is the point, the cost is fixed; if not, drop it and put the destination in the media. Also check the video against X's media limits first; see X video upload specs.
