Vidu's text-to-video reference, read 2026-10-01, lists viduq3-pro and viduq3-turbo at 1 to 16 seconds with a 5-second default; viduq2 is 1 to 10 and viduq1 is fixed at 5. Sume has no Vidu model, and no Sume video model goes down to 1 second. The shortest is 2.

If you are porting a Q3 call that asks for 1 to 3 seconds, the closest Sume model is wan-3.0, which accepts 2 to 30.

What is the shortest clip each Sume model makes?

Duration limits from Sume's video catalog, read 2026-10-01.
ModelShortestLongest
wan-3.02 s30 s
gemini-omni-flash-1.13 s10 s
seedance-2.54 s30 s
seedance-2, seedance-2-fast, seedance-2-mini4 s15 s
kling-34 s15 s
grok-imagine-video-1.54 s15 s
minimax-h3, minimax-h3-max5 s15 s

What do I do about a 16-second request?

Only wan-3.0 and seedance-2.5 take 16 seconds in one request; every other Sume model stops at 15. Check the exact limits of the model you use with GET /v1/video-router/models before you submit; the video docs say limits are not uniform.

How do I ask for a 2-second clip?

Pass duration as a whole number of seconds.

curl -X POST https://api.sume.com/v1/videos \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "Idempotency-Key: short-clip-001" \
  -d '{
    "model": "wan-3.0",
    "prompt": "A coin spins on a marble counter, macro shot",
    "duration": 2,
    "resolution": "480p"
  }'
