Runway image credits in dollars, and the Sume per-image rate
Runway prices images from 1 credit (muse_image) to 41 (gpt_image_2) at $0.01 a credit. Where Sume lists the same model, its per-image estimate sits beside it.

Runway's API pricing page lists image models from 1 credit (muse_image) to 41 credits (the top of the gpt_image_2 range), and sets a credit at $0.01, so a Runway image costs $0.01 to $0.41. Sume's image router reserves the provider list price times 1.25 per image. For the two models both list, seedream-5-lite is $0.04 on Runway and $0.044 on Sume, and gpt-image-2 is $0.01 to $0.41 on Runway against a Sume estimate of about $0.264 for one default image.
Runway facts are from its pricing page, read 2026-10-01. Sume facts are from the image docs and its pricing code, before the 5.5% agent fee that applies by default.
What do Runway's image credits cost in dollars?
At $0.01 per credit, multiply by 0.01. Ranges on the page depend on resolution or quality settings.
| Runway model | Credits | Dollars |
|---|---|---|
muse_image | 1 | $0.01 |
gen4_image_turbo | 2 | $0.02 |
seedream5_lite | 4 | $0.04 |
gen4_image (720p / 1080p) | 5 / 8 | $0.05 / $0.08 |
seedream5_pro (two sizes) | 5 / 9 | $0.05 / $0.09 |
gemini_image3.1_flash | 5 to 16 | $0.05 to $0.16 |
gpt_image_2 | 1 to 41 | $0.01 to $0.41 |
Which of these models does Sume list, and at what price?
Sume lists models by catalog id. The two that share a name with a Runway row above are below. Sume's gpt-image-2 figure is the estimate for one image at default settings, which varies with size and quality.
| Model | Runway | Sume id | Sume per image |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seedream 5 Lite | $0.04 | bytedance-seed/seedream-5-lite | $0.044 |
| GPT Image 2 | $0.01 to $0.41 | openai/gpt-image-2 | about $0.264 |
Why does Sume's number look different?
Sume's estimate is the provider list price times 1.25, reserved at submit and captured when the image completes. Runway's credit price is its own. A price gap on one model says nothing about the others; compute per image for the models you use. The full ranking is in AI image generator API cost.
How do I see the real price of an image on Sume?
Call GET /v1/catalog for the listed rate and fee, and read the usage.cost on a finished job. If the balance cannot cover the reserve, the request fails with 402 insufficient_credits before any image is made.
