Pinterest MCP with Claude: make the 2:3 pin with Sume

Pinterest MCP reads campaign and keyword data for an agent. Pair it with Sume's hosted MCP to generate the 2:3 pin image in the same Claude session.

Pinterest MCP and Sume's hosted MCP do different jobs, so an agent can use both: Pinterest's to read campaign, analytics and keyword data, Sume's generate_image to make the 2:3 pin from what it finds. Connect Sume at https://mcp.sume.com/mcp; follow Pinterest's own page for its access.

Pinterest facts are from its June 2026 Cannes announcement, read 2026-09-30. Sume facts are from the MCP overview and image model docs.

What does Pinterest say its MCP is?

Pinterest calls it an AI-native infrastructure that connects Pinterest to the copilots and agentic tools advertisers use, and says it is evolving across reporting, analysis, campaign planning and execution. It is described for partner tools, so check Pinterest's page for who can use it today. Nothing in Sume's docs depends on it.

Which image ratios fit a pin?

Sume's image docs list aspect_ratio values including 2:3, 4:5 and 9:16. Read a model's supported_parameters before pinning a ratio, since a model only accepts what its catalog descriptors list. Exact pin dimensions are in Pinterest pin specs.

What does the session need to call Sume?

Sume's hosted MCP works in Claude Code and other remote MCP clients. Paid and write calls still need an idempotency_key, and an OAuth session needs the mcp:write scope to see them. Ask the agent to run a dry_run first if you want a cost preview.

What is the handoff between the two servers?

Keyword and campaign findings go into the image prompt; the generated file comes back as a Sume media URL that you upload to Pinterest yourself. Sume does not publish pins. Review the image and the pin copy before it goes live, and see AI images on Pinterest for the platform question.
