FLUX API: 1 credit = $0.01 at BFL, dollars in Sume usage.cost
BFL prices FLUX in credits at $0.01 each. Sume reports the billed USD amount in usage.cost and exposes GET /v1/balance and GET /v1/usage, so no conversion.

At Black Forest Labs, 1 credit equals $0.01 USD, so a price quoted in credits divides by 100 to get dollars. On Sume you skip the conversion: an image response's usage.cost is the billed USD amount, and GET /v1/balance and GET /v1/usage read your USD balance and ledger.
BFL figures are as written on its pricing page; Sume behavior from Image API, Billing and credits and the public API overview, read 2026-10-01.
How does BFL define a credit?
The page says "1 credit = $0.01 USD", with pay per image, or per second for video, and the same price for the API and the Playground. Its FLUX.1 Kontext [pro] row shows 4 credits and $0.04 per image, which is that mapping applied. FLUX.2 rows are listed in dollars "from" a figure and vary with output resolution; BFL points to its pricing calculator for exact costs.
What does Sume return instead?
| Question | BFL | Sume |
|---|---|---|
| Unit of price | Credits, 1 credit = $0.01 | USD |
| Per-request cost | Priced per image or per second | usage.cost is the billed USD amount |
| Balance and ledger | Credit balance | GET /v1/balance, GET /v1/usage |
Where do I find what a generation costs on Sume?
The Billing docs point to the API pricing page for what a generation costs, and the image catalog at GET /v1/images/models lists models with pricing. Note that in the image API token counts in usage are 0 in v1; read cost, not tokens.
How do I check spend after a run?
Call GET /v1/usage for ledger entries and GET /v1/balance for the remaining USD balance; both are read-only and scoped to the workspace of the API key. For a cost-planning walkthrough see AI image generator API cost.
