ElevenLabs v4 price: 72% off to Oct 12, and a 5,000-character script
ElevenLabs lists v4 at $0.022 per 1K characters until Oct 12, then $0.08. A 5,000-character script by tier, next to Sume TTS 1.0's per-character rate.

ElevenLabs lists v4 text to speech at $0.022 per 1K characters, 72% off until Oct 12, with a regular price of $0.08; v4 Turbo is $0.011 now and $0.04 regular. A 5,000-character script is $0.11 on v4 at the promo and $0.40 at the regular price. Sume TTS 1.0 is $0.0475 per 1,000 characters, which is $0.2375 for the same script.
ElevenLabs numbers are from its API pricing page, read 2026-09-30. Sume's rate is from its rate card; both counts are per character, so the arithmetic is price per 1K times 5.
What does a 5,000-character script cost by tier?
Per-1K prices are as written on the ElevenLabs page; the script column is that price times 5. Sume's row is computed from the rate card.
| Engine and tier | Per 1K characters | 5,000 characters |
|---|---|---|
| ElevenLabs v4, promo to Oct 12 | $0.022 | $0.11 |
| ElevenLabs v4, regular | $0.08 | $0.40 |
| ElevenLabs v4 Turbo, promo to Oct 12 | $0.011 | $0.055 |
| ElevenLabs v4 Turbo, regular | $0.04 | $0.20 |
| Sume TTS 1.0 | $0.0475 | $0.2375 |
How does Sume count characters?
Sume TTS 1.0 is priced per transcript character after the Sume margin. Spaces and punctuation count, and the maximum is 20,000 characters per request. A promo like ElevenLabs' changes its own price; it does not change what a Sume job reserves.
Does Sume route ElevenLabs voices?
No. The TTS Router catalog in the OpenAPI document says v1 is Sonic only, so there is no ElevenLabs engine to select. The rate above is for Sume TTS 1.0, a different engine, so compare it as a price, not as the same voice.
How does a Sume TTS job run?
It is an async job with polling or a signed webhook, not streaming: the OpenAPI text says phase 1 is async job plus poll/webhook (non-streaming). See the TTS API guide for the pricing page and Eleven v4 TTS for what Sume lists of v4. The OpenAPI schema is linked from the API reference.
