Seedance 2.0 API price: which is lowest, by resolution

The lowest-priced Seedance 2.0 API depends on resolution: at list prices for a 5-second clip, fal is lowest at 720p and Runway at 1080p. Dated table.

The lowest-priced Seedance 2.0 API depends on the resolution you render. At list prices read on 2026-09-29, a 5-second 16:9 clip costs least on fal at 720p and on Runway at 1080p; Sume, which bills the provider list × 1.25, is the highest of the three at 720p and 1080p, and falls between them at 480p. The order changes again for the Fast and Mini variants, so compare at the spec you will actually run.

Vendor prices come from fal's Seedance 2.0 model pages and Runway's API pricing page, read on 2026-09-29. Sume prices are computed from Sume's pricing code, as described in the Video generation docs. The model maker's own cloud is not in the table; Sume vs Seedance covers it.

What does a Seedance 2.0 clip cost on each API?

One 5-second, 16:9, text-to-video clip, with no reference video. fal's prices are its stated per-second rate × 5; Runway's are credits per second × 5 at $0.01 a credit; Sume's are the amount reserved on submit.

From fal's Seedance 2.0, Fast and Mini pages, Runway API pricing and Sume's pricing code (Video generation), read 2026-09-29. Sume prices are before a 5.5% agent fee by default.

Seedance 2.0 Fast, 720p$1.21$1.45 (145 credits)$1.52

Why does the lowest price move with resolution?

fal and Sume price Seedance by video tokens, which count pixels: tokens = width × height × seconds × 24 ÷ 1,024. A 1080p frame has 2.25 times the pixels of a 720p frame, so the price rises about that much. Runway charges a flat 36 credits a second for Seedance 2.0 at both 480p and 720p, and 40 at 1080p. So at 480p Runway's 5-second price is the highest in the table, and at 1080p the lowest.

How do I work out the price for my own clip?

  • Token sellers: tokens = width × height × seconds × 24 ÷ 1,024, then × the price per 1,000 tokens. fal lists $0.014 per 1,000 tokens for Seedance 2.0 at 480p, 720p and 1080p.
  • Sume: its code lists seedance-2 at the same $0.014 and bills it × 1.25, which is $0.0175 per 1,000 tokens, plus a 5.5% agent fee by default. The live rate is in pricing_skus on GET /v1/videos/models; Seedance tokens walks through the math.
  • Runway: credits per second × seconds, with the minimums below.

What else changes the bill?

  • Minimums: Runway charges seedance2_mini at least 64 credits a generation.
  • Resolution limits: Runway lists seedance2_fast and seedance2_mini at 480p/720p. On Sume, 1080p is documented for seedance-2, not for Fast or Mini.
  • fal's Mini prices are stated as rough ("roughly"); its bill follows the token formula.
  • 4K: fal lists $0.008 per 1,000 tokens for Seedance 2.0 at 4K and Runway lists seedance2 at 4K for 150 credits a second. Sume's seedance-2 entry lists 480p, 720p and 1080p only.
  • Sume reserves the price on submit from the workspace USD balance.

Which Seedance 2.0 API should I pick on price?

  • fal, if you render at 480p or 720p and list price is the deciding factor.
  • Runway, if you render Seedance 2.0 at 1080p.
  • Sume, if you already call other Sume models or media tools and want Seedance billed from the same workspace balance; you pay the × 1.25 margin and the agent fee for that. Runway API Seedance lists what Runway's endpoints accept.
