Add a vignette to a video by API with the vignette filter
Add a lens-edge vignette to a Sume-hosted clip with the allowlisted vignette filter: one encode job, a new MP4, and limits on graph size and source length.

Send vignette as the filtergraph of a Sume video filter job on a media.sume.com clip. vignette is on the allowlist, and the job returns a new MP4 for $0.02 per encode job. Run POST /v1/video-filter/check first; it is free.
Higgsfield's Cinema Studio 4.0 changelog (Aug 12, 2026) mentions a rebuilt 5-lens system and camera presets. Sume does not simulate lenses; a vignette is a pixel pass. Facts are from Video filter and the compiler allowlist, read 2026-10-01.
What does the request look like?
An Idempotency-Key is required on the encode, not on the check. The PI/4 angle is standard ffmpeg syntax; narrower angles darken the corners more.
curl -X POST https://api.sume.com/v1/video-filter \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "Idempotency-Key: vignette-001" \
-d '{
"video_url": "https://media.sume.com/artifacts/artf_demo/talk.mp4",
"filtergraph": "vignette=PI/4"
}'What are the limits?
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Filtergraph length | Max 2048 characters |
| Named filters | 32 |
| Source length | At most 300 seconds |
| Ops before the graph | Up to 8 ops[] |
Can I combine it with other looks?
Yes, chain filters with commas inside the same graph, for example a tint then a vignette; see the allowlist and ops run before filtergraph.
Where do I read the result?
Poll GET /v1/jobs/:id/status until result_ready, then GET /v1/jobs/:id/result, which returns a new video_url. The source clip is untouched.
